Thanksgiving tastes good

We had Thanksgiving dinner with Erich's brothers and sisters on Wednesday. It's always so much fun when we all get together. Bethany made a delicious turkey. Seriously the best one I've ever had. We ate, played games, and just enjoyed each others company. The only thing that could have made it better was if Erich's parents were there. We missed them. :(

Homemade apple pie.

Lemon poppy seed cake. My all time favorite dessert. YUM.

Deviled Eggs. I'm not a huge fan, but Erich and his family LOVE them.

Pilgrim Hats. These are fun to make, and the kids just think they are so cool!

Thoughts on Thursdays

I was talking to Erich the other day about feeling like I have been lacking in the being thankful department. It's funny how after being given so much, you can still get selfish when little things may not go exactly how you want them to. Why is that?? I look back on my life and while there have been trials and things that I have gone through, God has given me waaay more in return. I have a great life. I have an awesome husband, I have an awesome family, I have Erich's side of the family who I love to death, I have good health, I have a calling that helps me grow and learn and build good relationships. How could I after all of this, still be selfish and get upset because Erich has to get his THIRD crown this year at 500 bucks a pop, or my car needs fixing again for what feels like the millionth time. Those are petty things that don't really matter at all. And problems that I will gladly take. I should just be thankful that we have good insurance, the money to pay for things when they might go a little wrong, and a car that gets me to wherever it is I desire to go. Life really is good, and I am thankful. Even at times when it gets a little easy to forget. :)

Salt Lake Thanksgiving

{November 19th-November 21st}

I went down to Salt Lake last weekend to spend some time with my family and have an early
Thanksgiving. Erich stayed behind this trip to work so I missed him, but it was still a fun time with my family!

It snowed a lot. It was awesome!

 Addie was freezing in this picture.

 Kayla and Myles watched us while staying warm and cozy inside.

 Journey and Ethan making snowballs.

 Yeah...I built that.

 I love these pictures. I have cute nieces and nephews!

 Silly Spencer.

So glad I was able to spend some time with my family, even if it was a short trip. We had a blast!!

Kelly vs. Cooking

I feel like I am really getting the hang of this whole cooking thing. I've always been more into baking, and cooking has always intimidated me a little. I decided I needed to be more consistant in my meal cooking so I've been doing it a lot more and I have to say that I'm not half bad! Last night I made lasagna and it was GOOD. And we have lots left over for Erich to take to work for lunches so he's happy. :)

And just incase you were wondering...this is what I look like when I'm cooking. I have to show those onions who's boss.
They have made me cry for the last time!

New Calling

I was called to be the secretary in Young Women's and I am so excited!! A little bit nervous, but mostly just excited! It's kind of weird because just 5 short years ago, I was in Young Women's myself. I just pray that I can be a good leader and a good example, and someone the girls will look up to. I'm excited to go to mutual on Wednesday nights. And I can hardly wait till girls camp next summer! I LOVED girls camp back when I was a Young Women so it will be so fun to go as a leader!

I am however going to miss my little Sunbeams. I have grown so attached to each one of them and I am really sad to be leaving them. As challenging as it was at times, I really did love it. Little kids are just so fun and inspiring to be around. They are so loving and honest, and have this pure light of Christ. I am so going to miss being around that every week. I just hope that through all the sit downs, stay in your chairs, don't hit your neighbors, and no screamings, I was actually able to teach them something :)

Halloween Part 1

{October 29th}

On friday I went with Daniel and Wendy to our friends Halloween party. Unfortunately Erich had to work so he couldn't be there.
Daniel was awesome and decided he wanted to be a gangster lion. He had the lion costume from when he was the cowardly lion in The Wizard of Oz.
He added some bling, a cool hat, a bandana, and voila! We had a fun night, I just wished my partner in crime could have been there with us. :(

Halloween Part 2

{October 30th}

Homemade pumpkin pancakes with pure maple syrup ='s perfect Halloween breakfast. YUM.

I made mummy cupcakes for the Halloween party we went to on Saturday.
I'm kind of obsessed with making things mini.

It's probably not a good idea to mess with us.

There never was a greater friendship.

Tyler and Wendy dancing. Show-offs.

Cori BEFORE.

Cori AFTER.
There's a reason she's been my friend for 10 years!

This mustache got around.

See what I mean..

Carving Pumpkins

{October 25th}

We had the Jones over for a pumpkin carving FHE. We always have so much fun when we're together.
We're so lucky to have such great friends!!

Erich doing his thing.

I think they're going to be really good friends.
